Makes Precise Cuts in a Variety of Materials
The MM422 is best used for making the precise cuts needed for the installation of different types of flooring or wall trim. This model is unique in that it can also cut through various non-ferrous metals, making it perfect for restoration and renovation work.

Makes Plunge Cuts and Flush Cuts
Ideal for performing plunge cuts and flush cuts, the MM422 easily cuts through plastic and drywall, soft and hard woods, and linoleum and laminate tile and flooring. This handy blade even cuts soft metals such as copper water pipes.

7/8-Inch Depth and 3/4-Inch Width for Versatility
The MM422 provides a 7/8-inch depth of cut, 3/4-inch width, and is well-suited for a wide variety of applications. It's particularly helpful with repair or renovation projects, such as flush-cutting doorjambs or windowsills, and it can also easily handle tile installation and plumbing jobs.

Safe, User-Friendly Design Protects You and Your Work Surface
The MM422 gets the job done without causing damage to your work surface or surrounding area. To ensure precise results, simply avoid forcing the tool during the plunge cut, and watch out for too much vibration (which indicates that you're applying too much pressure). Additionally, to protect a delicate surface, just cover it with tape or cardboard and you're ready to go.

About Dremel: A History of Brilliance and Innovation
Founded in 1932 in Racine, Wisconsin, Dremel is the industry leader in rotary tools. The company owes its success to the inventive genius of its founder and namesake, Albert J. Dremel. In his lifetime, Mr. Dremel owned 55 patents on a wide range of products from electric erasers to a gas-powered rotary lawn mower. His most famous and important invention was a high-speed rotary tool, dubbed the Dremel Moto-Tool. Compact, lightweight, and perfect for a wide range of jobs, the rotary tool was an immediate hit with hobbyists and eventually became accepted as one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century. Today, the Dremel name remains synonymous with utility, durability, and innovation.

4 out of 5 stars Good for small jobs   June 10, 2010
Richard Close (MOUNT GRETNA, PA, US)
The blade might be better than the Dremel MultiMax. When I tried cutting through some wood screws, the machine heated up so much that I had to stop and let it cool down. I was using low speed with little success in cutting off the end of a screw so I incresed the speed - the blade heated the screw so much that sparks started to fly and the surrounding wood began to smolder. Not a job for the Dremel - I resorted to a hack saw. Probably longer but better than burning the house down. Just be aware of limitations. I wonder how the more expensive Fein machine would perform?

These blades work hard. I've bought a dozen or more with no problem, except the one that fell apart at the joint on the first use! Bit expensive but search for cheaper options

4 out of 5 stars Replacement for original Wood blade.   March 3, 2010

I like the this wood and metal blade much better than the wood blade. The multi-max itself is a great tool to have available during a remodel..

1 out of 5 stars Cuts only soft metals   November 14, 2009

I needed to cut the end of a bolt and thought this "metal" blade would do the job. When I ruined the blade, I noticed on the package that it was designed for non-ferrous metals. If you want to cut aluminum foil, this is your blade. If you want to cut anything hard, you will need to find another tool or blade.
