Powerful, Two-Speed Design for Versatility
This powerful 12-volt drill/driver delivers a maximum of 293 in./lbs. of full-time torque, so you can get tough jobs done and still remain in control. And with a two-speed gearbox, you can be sure to get the right speed for the job.

The low-speed setting of 50 to 400 RPM is ideal for tough jobs requiring high torque, such as drilling with large bits and driving screws in a controlled manner. Likewise, the high-speed setting of 180 to 1,300 RPM is great for general drilling and fastening in metal.

18-Stage Clutch Plus Drill Position for Precision and ControlThe EY6409GQKW is also equipped with an 18-stage clutch plus drill position, which helps ensure accuracy and control and extends the life of the tool by making sure the correct amount of torque is available for a variety of applications. This helps prevent driving screws too far, snapping them off, or damaging materials as you work.

Ergonomic Construction for Ease of Use
Well-balanced, this drill/driver is easy to work with, and it allows you to work long hours more comfortably. The EY6409GQKW measures a compact 8-3/16 inches in length and weighs less than five pounds. Ideal for both right- and left-handed users, this tool's ergonomic design includes a comfortable, contoured rubber grip to reduce fatigue during extended use. And convenient placement of the variable-speed control trigger and forward/reverse switch permits simple, one-handed operation.

A 1/2-inch heavy-duty keyless chuck means that you'll never have to worry about losing your chuck key. It also means that bit changes will be fast and easy, which is important if you switch tasks often or wear protective gloves on the job.

Reliable, Quick-Charge Battery Power
Effective battery power means no more tangled extension cords that can limit your movement or cause a safety hazard. That's why this Panasonic drill driver is powered by a high-capacity 3.5-Ah Ni-MH battery pack that can be fully charged in just 55 minutes. This industry-exclusive battery has 75-percent more capacity than the 2.0-Ah Ni-Cd batteries that come with many standard drills.

This means less time waiting and more time working. And even when there isn't time for a full charge, the inverter charger features an Emergency Charge function that charges the pack to 15% of its full capacity in just five minutes.

For further convenience, this kit comes with a convenient second battery pack, so you don't have to worry about buying one separately.

What's in the Box
Panasonic EY6409GQKW 12-Volt Drill Driver, two 3.5-Ah Ni-MH battery packs, universal charger, and molded plastic case.

5 out of 5 stars Work horse   March 19, 2009

I have this drill for almost 3 years and I do remodeling for living. This is my only cordless gun I have now and it is enough. Battery charging is fast enough and it can hold and or last very very long in compare to any other NiMH drills we used before. Feels pretty good, not heavy and have enough power to drill. My frined got himself the 15.6V version and we both like the 12V better. Same power, last same time but mine is lighter:)

5 out of 5 stars 5 years going strong   February 8, 2009

I talked my wife into letting me buy this drill to replace the makita 9.6 2 speed I had used for 19 yrs(with a few replaced batteries). The first job with the Panasonic was to install our deck in June 2003. I screwed down a 12 x 16 Trex deck and 13 steps and a landing on the first charge of the batteries. I have worked for a remodeling contractor the past 6 years and use this drill all the time for jobs that I should be using my Milwaukee hole hawg, but I am too lazy to get it from the truck. Some day it is going to give up. The batteries don't last quite as long as they did when they were new, but my boss has already replaced some of his Milwaukee 18 volt batteries that are only 3 years old, and his drill is used less than half as much as mine. The balance and weight is great and my coworkers like to use mine over the others available.

5 out of 5 stars A great cordless drill/driver.   January 12, 2009

I'm a remodel carpenter. I've owned this drill for about 5 years. It gets used nearly every day. I LOVE IT. This is a well designed, industrial grade, reliable tool. It's perfectly balanced. There is virtually no hand/arm fatigue, at the end of a day using this drill. It seems more powerful than just 12 volts. I've used its 15.6 volt big brother, and I prefer the superior balance vs power ratio of this unit. I'm still using the 2 original batteries it came with. The smart, quick charger weighs very little, and has the batteries fully recharged in 15 minutes at most. I can't think of a single complaint to make about this drill. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

5 out of 5 stars lightweight durable   November 9, 2008

I have a small custom cabinetry shop and have been using these drills for five years now. The original batterys still hold a charge decently and the drills still work like new, even though they don't look it. What we like most about these drills is their weight, balance, size, trigger control and durability. Our drills have seen alot of use and abuse over the years. The only thing that we managed to break was the clips on one of the batteries and that was only after it was dropped off of a 16ft. ladder onto concrete. If you are a home owner who is just tinkering around you can buy a much cheaper drill and you will be just fine, but if you are looking for a drill that will take alot of use and abuse and keep on going, I would recommend this product.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding in every way   August 9, 2008
M. Hurley (Los Angeles, CA USA)
Having owned many cordless drills over the years, I can say that this Panasonic Drill is by far the best I've owned.

This drill exudes quality and is a pleasure to use. I'm also glad that I opted for the model with the 3.5 amp/hour batteries...they seem to last forever compared to my previous drills.

Yes, this drill costs more, but you really get what you pay for!
