This affordable lathe has functionality, precision and ease, making it ideal the beginning and experienced woodworkers alike. Durably designed, the 46-715 is crafted out of cast-iron with a ribbed design to reduce vibration while maintaining bed strength with a wide stance for the greatest stability. It includes 10 speed changes in simple to adjust positions and is designed with both ball bearing live and spur centers. For bowl or general outboard turning, headstock swivels at 45, 90, and 180 degrees and can be situated anywhere along the bed. It features 24 different lockable positions on the spindle and detents on the headstock for exact calculations or easy access for ornamental detailing without removing your work. The spindle can also turn up to 40 inches and is convenient to change with standard 1-8 right hand thread. In addition, hollow tailstock ram travels 3 inches through 3/4 thread, allowing the use of hollow cup center and boring bits so you can easily drill into work in progress.
