Very Happy so far May 13, 2008

I had a cheap pair of pruners and decided to treat myself to this pair of good ones. I used them a lot to do the spring cleanup of my large prairie garden which has thick and thin stalks of dead foliage from last year. I'm very happy with these. They cut big stalks easily and are easy to handle. They feel substantial in my hand and very durable. One improvement they could use is no-slip rubber on the handles. While wearing cotton/smooth gardening gloves, my hands would slip up the handles and I had to reposition my grip regularly. The other thing I found confusing when I first removed them from the packaging is the lock to keep them closed. I couldnt get it open at first, so then I used a small screwdriver to remove it completely. Then I realized it wasnt supposed to be removed completely so I had to put the pieces back on. Now that I got it adjusted correctly, it works fine to slide the small orange button up and down to open and close it. They really should update the packaging telling you how to use this feature (or maybe I'm just really dumb?!). All in all, very happy and highly recommended! I hope they stay sharp for me for a long time.
