Powers Through the Toughest Jobs with Precision
The DS12DVF3 Driver Drill offers class-leading maximum torque of 230 in/lbs, so you can power through wood up to one inch thick. And two-speed transmission is controlled by a one-touch speed knob that lets you choose the right setting for your job--either 0-350 RPM or 0-1,050 RPM.

Also, a 22-stage clutch offers easy adjustments for high torque and precision driving in wood, plastic, steel, and aluminum. And with tool-less clutch adjustment, this drill handles precision fasteners, such as drywall screws, without damaging walls.

Compact, Ergonomic Design for Easy Handling
The DS12DVF3 has all the power you need and is still lightweight and compact enough to provide superior handling. At just 7-3/4 inches in length and weighing just 3.3 pounds, this tool reduces user fatigue and can be used on a ladder or in tight spaces where larger cordless drills can't reach. An added bonus, a non-slip elastomer grip provides comfort and safety.

Adding to this drill's easy-handling features is a 3/8-inch keyless chuck that allows for easy bit changes, as well as a patented five-position belt hook--with two bit holders--that saves time and adds convenience.

Everything You Need in One Package
The DS12DVF3 Kit includes more than just the cordless driver drill. It also includes a high-quality flashlight and a seven-piece bit set to get you started immediately. For further convenience, a protective carrying case stores it all for easy portability from job to job.

Long-Lasting NiCD Batteries Charge in 30 Minutes
The DS12DF3 kit's driver drill and flashlight run on 1.4-Ah nickel cadmium (NiCD) batteries (included), which offer longer runtimes and fewer charges than traditional batteries.

The kit's quick charger fully charges the batteries in just 30 minutes, and you can expect about 300 charges over the life of each battery. An added bonus, the charger is compatible with other Hitachi tools that use NiCD rechargeable batteries (up to 18 volts).

The Hitachi DS12DVF3 Driver Drill Kit with Flashlight is backed by a five-year warranty.

What's in the Box

Purchased this item based on a reasonable price and the reviews given. I love this cordless drill, plenty of power, batteries hold a charge for a long time and the included bits come in very handy. Nice storage case and the drill has numerous torque and speed settings. Great for household use. [...]

5 out of 5 stars Powerful, Long Lasting, Easy to Use   August 3, 2010
zeroryouko (Torrance, CA)
This drill is one of the nicest cordless drills I've ever used. It's light enough not to fatigue my hand when using it over and over as a screw gun, but it packs a surprising amount of torque - enough to put a screw head entirely through a pine board if you don't turn down the torque. The battery seems to last forever on a single charge - I've used it for 3 or 4 hours to assemble a living room full of bookshelves, and also to build a workbench and a TV cart. And it comes with a spare battery just in case, plus some screw bits and a flashlight. My one complaint is the keyless chuck, which seems to be difficult to get quite tight enough on the round shaft of a small drill bit, but this seems to be common to a lot of keyless chuck designs and I would not hold it against this particular model. I definitely recommend this drill.

5 out of 5 stars I love this drill (a females perspective)   July 26, 2010

I bought this drill for all the little round the house repairs, and if I could find a way to use it on a daily basis, I would. I just love it. It's small, comfortable, light weight, and does everything you need it to. My contractor even comes looking for it on a regular basis, so it can't be too shabby :)

The torch was a real bonus - I originally figured it would be handy to have a spare torch, but I never expected the adjustable head to come in so handy! Set it on the floor (or wherever), adjust the head so its pointing where you need it, and presto - you have light AND both of your hands free!

Its a great combo, and I certainly cannot say enough good things about them.

5 out of 5 stars Well Worth The Money   April 11, 2010
Terry A. Strother (Baltimore, MD)
I am a custom builder, I have been using this drill/driver for 7 years now. I own 6 of them including the original in the 3 different configurations over the years. As stated I do custom work to last a life time, I use little nails, mainly screws. I have driven thousands of screws (including 4") with this drill.....NOT ONE PROBLEM. Yes, I had one problem when the original got caught on a ladder and damaged the trigger switch, $12.64 later it was as good as new.

Lots of torque and light weight the perfect package......GET THIS ONE!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great small drill   March 18, 2010

I needed a battery for my Makita but the price was as much as this drill. So, I retired my 25 year old Makita and bought this one. Turned out to be a good match. Plenty of power and lightweight.
